Vanbreed Management Sponsors Draft Preview Party Benefitting Gridiron Heroes
2/23/2012
by Allen Cordrey

On April 25, 2012 Vanbreed Management is sponsoring our second annual NFL Draft preview show and charity event. The event will run from 6pm to 9pm with a radio broadcast scheduled from 7pm to 8pm. The event will be held at 1010 Collins Entertainment Center in Arlington Texas (across from Cowboys stadium). This year's event will benefit Gridiron Heroes (www.GridironHeroes.org).

The radio show, hosted by local radio personality Dave Michaels, will feature former and current Dallas Cowboys players and NFL Draft prospects. Dave and his guests will preview the NFL draft, talk about the Dallas Cowboys draft needs and talk to players about their draft experiences.

New this year is the Sports Expo. Local sports related businesses will be on hand to meet the fans. Find out what is going on in the Dallas sports world and get autographs from current and former pro athletes*. Come out and support these great companies that support Gridiron Heroes!

Some of the celebrities scheduled to appear at the Sports Expo are SMU Head Coach June Jones, Hall of Famer Mel Renfro, former Oakland Raider safety Joe King, current Dallas Cowboy wide receiver Raymond Radway, and former Dallas Cowboys greats Billie Joe Dupree, Kevin Smith and Charlie Williams. More players will be announced soon.

Two of the biggest celebrities attending will be the founders of Gridiron Heroes, Eddie and Chris Canales. Eddie was a runner up for the CNN Hero award in 2011 (http://www.cnn.com/SPECIALS/cnn.heroes/archive11/eddie.canales.html). As a special addition to the event, we will be rebroadcasting the CNN piece on Eddie that was narrated by Kurt Warner. This is the first time this will be shown publicly since the CNN Heroes award show. Chris and Eddie's story is a triumph of the human spirit.

Admission to the event is free to the public, but we are recommending a donation to Gridiron Heroes.

We are also doing a 500/26 charity raffle with all proceeds going to Gridiron Heroes. The 500/26 raffle means there are only 500 $5 raffle tickets available with 26 prizes. 25 of the prizes are in the raffle but the 26th prize is for the person who buys the most raffle tickets. The 26th prize winner gets to select any item in the raffle as their prize!

Some of the prizes include: a framed 16X20 autographed picture of Darryl "Moose" Johnston, a Dallas Cowboys 50th Anniversary mini-helmet signed by 11 former and current Cowboys including Rayfield Wright, Randy White, Dez Bryant and Orlando Scandrick, an Upper Deck Authentic Framed Emmitt Smith photo with game used football, an ALDS game used baseball signed by the winning pitcher Derek Holland and many more great prizes. Raffle tickets can be purchased at the Vanbreed table.
